Please join ACI New England and Heidelberg Materials for a tour of their Boston cement terminal, followed by a presentation by Heidelberg Materials' Technical Services Engineer, Ragini Nikumbh Ph. D., on Ultra High Performance Concrete: Advancements, Applications, and Pathways to Broader Adoption”. A question and answer session will follow along with an opportunity for networking.  Refreshments will be served and guests are invited to continue their networking and discussions at their own leisure at the Harpoon Brewery, 306 Northern Avenue, Boston following the event. (Walking distance)

Ultra‑High‑Performance Concrete (UHPC) has emerged as one of the most innovative materials in modern construction, offering exceptional mechanical performance, durability, and long‑term resilience. This presentation will introduce the fundamentals of UHPC—what differentiates it from conventional concrete, why its material behavior is unique, and how it can enhance service life and sustainability across a wide range of applications.

We will review current uses in bridges, buildings, precast components, and field‑cast connections, and highlight key lessons learned from completed projects. The session will also cover practical considerations for implementing UHPC, including mix design fundamentals, the role of various admixtures and how they work, casting challenges, and strategies for achieving cost‑effective performance. Finally, we’ll end with ongoing research and evolving standards around it.
